Week Ending: July 24, 2005
Within the last 48 hours, Eastern, Rocky Mountain, Pacific Northwest and European Divisions launched a member communication containing a common petition and asked for help from membership. The Patroller Committee reaches out to all members in all Divisions, because we believe you would like to know about this important petition effort.
On the PatrollerCommittee.org home page is a link to this petition. The ultimate goal of this petition effort is to initiate a vote of the Patrollers of the National Ski Patrol to amend our Articles of Incorporation. Under Colorado law, if 10% of our members agree to the petition, then the proposed changes will be brought to a vote by all the members at a future date. Again, the petition is just to allow the vote to occur, it does not infer that a member agrees or disagrees with the changes as described.
The Patroller Committee requests your help by asking you to respond to this petition. Open up the Member Petition Document by clicking the petition link on the home page. It is very straight forward. Read the petition and cast your vote by clicking on “Review and Vote for Petition using Electronic Form” and just follow the instructions. No other response is required. The Division Directors have tried to make this process as easy as possible for you, so that it takes the least amount of time out of your busy life.
The ultimate goal of this petition process is to allow all Patrollers of the National Ski Patrol to have a voice in selecting the direction of our organization. If you care passionately about the NSP we ask for your support of the petition. If you used to care deeply about the NSP but stopped doing so because you felt your voice was not heard, please support the petition, as it will allow you to be heard in a very real way. Even if you are happy with the current state of the NSP, please also support the petition, as it will allow our leadership to hear directly from you and your fellow Patrollers.
Should you wish to mail a hard copy of the response, or if you know members without e-mail capability, you will find a link for a paper copy of the petition. The petition then can be printed and mailed to the address listed with the member’s name and their patrol name written on the petition.
Should you wish to find out more about the issues related to the petition, review the link: “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ).
Thank you in advance for helping the Officers of the Eastern, Rocky Mountain, Pacific Northwest and European Divisions in their efforts to get your voices and desires heard by the NSP National Chairman, NSP National Board of Directors and all of the NSP National officers.
The significance of this message is critical for the future of our NSP. The Patroller Committee is making a best effort to communicate with all registered members and concerned Patrollers everywhere. We need you to take the next step: VOTE and then help us get this important message and opportunity out to every Patroller. Please spread the word about the petition by talking and sending emails to your fellow Patrollers.
All Patrollers not registered with the Patroller Committee website are encouraged to register, so we may communicate with you directly with updates and information.
