On November 14, the National Ski Patrol initiated the Member vote on the proposed Member Rights amendments. These amendments include term-limits for members of the board of directors, nomination process reforms, fair election process, and member rights.
The Member vote will utilize either an electronic or paper ballot. Those Members with email addresses on Member records at NSP will get an email for an electronic ballot, and those that do not, will get a paper ballot in the US mail. For details on voting read below.
As we all know, no voting system is fool-proof, so provisions have and are being made to allow every Member the opportunity to vote. If problems do occur while voting, try voting again and/or call the contracted vendor IVS for assistance, (for info see below).
Common to all votes is Member anonymity, which is accomplished with a voter ID number assigned to Members for use in both voting processes. You will be have the opportunity to vote Yes (For) or No (Against) the proposed amendments.
The NSP Board of Directors, all Division Directors, and the Member Committee (representatives of the petitioners) fully support the proposed amendments and submit the Member ballot and seek the approval of NSP active Members.
The Patroller Committee Team is voting Yes (For) the amendments, as we believe the Member Rights amendments are in the best interest of the membership and the NSP.
To ratify the amendments, 25% membership must vote and a majority must vote Yes (For).
All votes need to be received by IVS by 11:59 PM December 5 to be counted.
Please help get the word out
Every active Member** (with an email address) will receive a copy of the ballot provisions and a Member specific voter ID number.
To Vote: Open the IVS Ballot using hyperlink in the NSP email and type in your voter ID number; add your email address to get email confirmation that your vote was received and counted.
The electronic ballot is very simple, and only takes a few minutes, so vote ASAP.
Only your first recorded vote by IVS will count, voting multiple times will not cause any problems. If any doubt, vote again!
If you do not receive an electronic ballot by November 21, see "What Do I Do Now?" below.
If you do not receive an email confirmation from IVS, that your vote has been counted, please contact IVS at (302) 369-3779 and ask if your vote was counted
You should receive your ballot in the mail no later than by November 21.
We have not seen the paper ballot yet, but would expect it will be similar to the electronic version with Members receiving a voting ID number on the ballot, which will be returned with your ballot.
Upon receipt of the paper ballot, please fill out the ballot immediately as the votes have to be at IVS by December 5 to count.
If you have not received a paper ballot by November 21, see "What Do I Do Now?" below.
You have not received either an electronic or paper ballot by November 21.
Send an email to Mark Dorsey and IVS with your NSP Member number and tell them you have not received either an electronic or paper ballot and ask for voting instructions.
You may also call IVS at (302) 369-3779 and ask for voting instructions.
If you do not get a satisfactory response from Mark Dorsey and IVS, please send an email to Bill Kirksey
Will Each Family Member Who Shares A Common Email Address Be Allowed To Vote?
Some NSP families have multiple patrollers and share a common email address. Each Member within those families will get separate voter ID numbers, or separate paper ballots, which will allow all Members the opportunity to vote.
If new or updated voting information becomes available, the Patroller Committee will post it on our website.
