Week of May 15-21 2005
The purpose of this communication is to foster member awareness and to provide a vehicle for the identification of issues which are important to the membership and the resolution of the same to the mutual benefit of the members and the National Ski Patrol.
Patrollers nationwide continue to join the Patroller Committee. These registering patrollers represent eight of the ten continental divisions that contain over 90% of all NSP patrollers.
Here is a couple of encouraging comments we have received:
'The overwhelming and positive response to our plight, by my fellow patrollers has been heartwarming. We are proud to be identified as NSP patrollers and hold dear the heritage and tradition of the people that forged our growth and visibility in the public eye. We must have the ability to again be a member-driven organization. Our region stands with you unanimously.'
'This is a very frustrating time for patrollers. The threatened loss of our identity has energized my region and division for that matter. We are committed to returning our organization to once proud National Ski Patrol to be looked-after by the members who built it. Thank you Patroller Committee for taking on a very difficult but attainable task. Keep up the good work!'
Eastern Division Passes Resolution On April 27, 2005 Richard Hamlin, Director of the Eastern Division submitted a detailed resolution for change to Bill Sachs. This resolution was created by the Eastern Division Board of Directors and Region Delegates and consists of three proposals (shown below) with seven recommended changes.
Central Division Task Force Efforts Four Task Force efforts are in the final stages of developing proposals for change as reported in the PC Weekly Communication for the week ending April 9. These Central Division proposals when available will be posted on the PC Website. As we understand it, Jim Woodrum, Division Director, will forward these proposals to NSP for discussion at the upcoming Annual Meeting.
