What Can You Do
In the beginning, the National Ski Patrol was a cooperative movement organized by skiers and run by skiers, for the benefit of all skiers. Our NSP leadership has allowed and/or directed NSP to drift dangerously away from our original charter and lost sight of the patroller on the hill who is the reason NSP exists. The Patroller Committee Team members encourage all Patrollers to get involved. The following are some things you can do as a Patroller to assure that NSP will be returned to a member driven organization and stay that way.
1. Become aware, informed and engaged in the future of the NSP
- Read the meeting minutes form the Board of Directors meetings and be knowledgeable of the NSP
Bylaws and Policies & Procedures
- Read patroller postings on the NSP Member Forum
- Read all NSP communications and Patroller Committee updates and website information
2. Unite with other patrollers
- Unite with other Patrollers and the Patroller Committee in support of Member Rights and to promote
NSP Leadership accountability
- Register yourself as a member of the Patroller Committee at patrollercommittee.org
3. Let your voice or opinion be heard
- Communicate with and to your Patrol Director, Section Chief, Region Director, Division Director, Board
of Directors, and National Chair. Let them know your desires and thank them for their leadership in
soliciting change on behalf of membership.
- Send a message to our National Chairman and the Board of Directors
- Share your feelings with fellow patrollers and encourage them to get involved
- Share your thoughts and comments on the NSP Member Forum
4. Be a champion for change
- Get the word out within your patrol and within your region to encourage involvement and Patroller
Committee registration
- Respectfully promote change within the National Ski Patrol for the mutual benefit of patrollers
and the NSP
5. Support, nominate and vote for the NSP leaders that are supportive of organization change
- Attend and participate in Division and Regional meetings
- Champion and/or support the development of Regional and Division sponsored Resolutions of Change
- Actively participate and vote in all elections and governance opportunities
